Thank you to the parents that participated in the annual Parent Opinion Survey in Term 3. These parents were randomly selected by the Department of Education and Training. I am proud to announce that our parents have ranked Korumburra Primary School at or above the state in some very key areas. These include: Stimulating Learning, Learning Focus, Extra-Curricular Activities, Homework as well as Student Connectedness to Peers and School.
As a school staff, we are exploring ways of addressing the feedback from our parents. Helping parents feel comfortable in coming into our school and communicating with our staff has been and will continue to be a high priority. We are always striving to have good two-way communication. We have received feedback that parents would like to be offered more formal opportunities to meet with their child’s teacher. In response to this we have made the decision to timetable a formal Parent Teacher Interview at the end of Semester 1 (this has traditionally been a Student-Parent-Teacher Conference). Our school acknowledges that these are important interviews for parents to discuss progress and set goals for the second part of the year. Student -Parent -Teacher Conferences will continue to be held at the end of the year as a way of highlighting and celebrating student learning.
