The KPS School Council and parents have developed a school uniform that all students are expected to wear. The uniform has been developed to be practical, attractive and affordable. It is also an important part of developing our school culture and sense of belonging.
Bus services at KPS are organised by Korumburra Secondary College. Parents wishing to know if their child is eligible to travel on a country bus can find out by contacting the Bus Coordinator at the Korumburra Secondary College.
Information on the bus services can be found on our School Information and Forms page.
Transition from Kinder to Prep
We want Prep students to have a smooth transition to primary school. Our Prep students’ journey begin with several school visits in the months before they start as well as a number of teacher visits to local kindergarten and child care centres. There are four prep orientation days usually held in September, October, and November and on the State Wide Orientation Day in December. The sessions run for approximately 1 and half hours in either the morning or afternoon. Parent information evenings are also held to share information with our new families towards the end of the year.
Prep hours for first week of school are: 9.00am-1.00pm. The Preps will not attend school on the first four Wednesdays as teachers complete individual assessments with students. Children will attend on the other days after the first week from 9 – 3.30pm.
Transition from Primary to Secondary School
Our teachers work hard with the local secondary schools to create a seamless transition between schools. Year 6 students undertake three days in a specially designed “all-in” transition program at the local government secondary college during Term 3, and there is also an extra ‘early-bird’ transition program for selected students. A transition evening is also arranged for the sharing of information between our primary school teachers and secondary college staff.
